Teacher Open House

Special Programs and Hours for Martin Luther King Day
January 21, 2008

The Children’s Museum will be open 9:00 a.m.  - 5:00 p.m. on Martin Luther King Day with extra animal demos, Mr. Science shows, astronomy activities and full dome planetarium experiences in the new Travelers Science Dome. While our Main Exhibit hall will be closed from January 2 – February 15, 2008 to make way for our new Dino Dig Space, Martin Luther King Day will be a fun-filled day of unique science programming.

Join us beginning January 22nd for another 8-week series of our popular toddler program! This class is an interactive, animal- themed program for children ages 18 months to three years old.
 
Classes will be offered on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings from 9:30-10:15. Pre-registration is required at 860.231.2830, ext. 44.

Program change!
Please make note that our new Way-Out Wednesday program that was to start on January 16 has been postponed till February 13, 2008. We apologize for any inconvenience.  Way-Out Wednesdays is a changing monthly program includes crafts, stories, and sometimes live animals and is for elementary school children and their parents.

January Bird Walk
Dress warmly for Roaring Brook Nature Center's morning bird walk on Saturday, January 5th from 7:30-9:00 AM.  Cost is $2.00 for members and $3.00 for nonmembers.  Call for information at 693-0263.

Discovery Days Programs For Winter
Discovery Days, the Nature Center’s enrichment series for children in pre-school and in grades K-3.  Programs continue through the winter season.  Registration is now open for January programs.  Check the web site for details.

Nature Center  Story Hours Continue
Story hour continues during the winter season with a one hour program on scheduled  Monday, January 14th from 1:00-2:00 PM.  Geared for ages 2-5, children must be accompanied by an adult.

Nature Center Schedules Mid-Winter Bird Seed Sale
Roaring Brook Nature Center will hold a one-day, mid-winter bird seed sale on Saturday, January 19th.  Orders forms are available by calling the Center at 693-0263.
