Hundreds of overlooked edible and medicinal wild herbs, greens, berries, nuts, seeds, roots, and mushrooms grow wild in area throughout our region. People often destroy these renewable species as “weeds,” but they’ve nourished and healed human beings for thousands of years. Under expert supervision they’re easy to learn, recognize, gather, and use for food and home remedies.

The tour leader, world-famous naturalist “Wildman” Steve Brill, seasons the seasonal edibles with generous helpings of science and conservation, a pinch of folklore and
mythology, a dash of history, and an all-natural extract of cooking information; all tossed
together with his jokes and anecdotes.

This tour also provides a great way to get children of all ages interested in the natural world that surrounds us, and the science that explains it all.
