Camp-In FAQs
When do Camp-Ins happen?
November - June, Friday and Saturday; 6:30 p.m. (check-in) - 9:00 a.m. (departure)
Small Group Camp-In
What is the Cost?
$30/person scouts and adults
Minimum group fee of $300 for groups of fewer than 10 (scouts and adults)
When you register as a small group, we combine your group with others to meet the 60 total camper minimum to run a Camp-In.
Payment Policy
50% of total is due within two weeks of making reservation.
Final payment is due six weeks prior to the Camp-In date.
Refund Policy
The Children’s Museum does not issue refunds.
Groups are encouraged to book conservatively. You are responsible for your total numbers booked.
If space is available, you may increase your scout/adult numbers by contacting the Registration Department.
Private Facility Camp-In
(The Museum Can Accommodate Up to 130 People)
What is the Cost?
$3,200 Flat Fee
Your group is the only group at The Museum. When you reserve a Private Facility Camp-In, one leader must serve as the contact person.
Payment Policy
Please be aware, upon making a reservation, that you are responsible for the total amount of $3200. Within 2 weeks of making your reservation, a deposit of $1600 is due. Within 4 weeks of your reservation, the remaining balance of $1600 is due.
Refund Policy
The Children’s Museum does not issue refunds.

What is the schedule for a Camp-In?
- 6:30-6:50 p.m. Check-In
- 7:00 p.m. ORIENTATION
- 7:30 p.m. Science Dome Show
- 8:00-10:30 p.m. Two workshops, exploration, and snack
- 10:30 p.m. Set up campsite
- 11:00 p.m. Lights out
- 6:30 a.m. WAKE-UP
- 7:00- 9:00 a.m. Breakfast, store visit, and exploration
- 9:00 a.m. DEPARTURE

What do we bring?
- A lightweight sleeping bag (or a few blankets) and a pillow
- AIR MATTRESSES AND COTS ARE NOT ALLOWED! With limited space in the sleeping areas, they are too large and become a safety hazard within the building.
- Twin Sized Sleeping Pads are permitted.
- All gear should be clearly labeled with your group and individual name to reduce the loss of any items.
- Toothbrush/paste
Do we bring our own food?
- We supply a snack in the evening. Make sure to eat dinner before arrival.
- A cold breakfast is available in the morning. Coffee and tea is available for all adults in the evening and morning.
- Groups should not bring any food or drinks except for those who have special needs.
- Water bottles are allowed; please label.
Who staffs the Camp-In?
- A Camp-In Manager is on duty for the entire Camp-In.
- A professional Science Educator for each workshop.
- An overnight staff person is awake and available during the night.
What about first aid/ emergencies?
- Each group should have someone responsible for first aid during Camp-In.
- Leaders should have parental/medical permission forms as required by their organization.
- Each group will complete an Emergency Contact Form to turn in at check-in.
- If a camper brings medication, it must be self-administered or administered by your group's first aid person. Refrigeration for medicine and food is available.
What do you do in case of snow cancellation?
- An official notice of cancellation is made by noon the day of the Camp-In.
- A message is placed on the voice mail system thereby informing group leaders of the decision.
