The theme for the Museum’s Astronomy Day celebration is Celebrate the Moon! Future astronauts and young scientists will enjoy participatory activities including storytelling, exploring the lunar sensory box, creating Moon craters and launching soda straw rockets.  Take your photo in our special astronaut photo-suit before boarding the Travelers Science Dome Planetarium for a trip to the Moon with a cat named Larry, through the solar system in a cardboard rocket, or race back to the Moon with teams competing for the Google Lunar X Prize. Learn how to use a star map to find constellations in the night sky. Weather permitting, a special telescope will provide safe viewing of the Sun and a view of the First Quarter Moon.

Celebrate the Moon! Activities are included with general admission on Astronomy Day. Museum hours on Astronomy Day are 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission to The Children’s Museum is $14.75 for adults, $13.75 for seniors (63+), $13.75 for children (2-12) and free for children under age 2.
