The New Neighbors Membership is exclusively available to members of the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors. What it is:
The New Neighbors Membership offers one year of membership and unlimited admission to The New Children’s Museum of West Hartford and Roaring Brook Nature Center of Canton. Included on the membership are two named adults, all the children under the age of 18 living in the household, and one named adult Caregiver who may reside outside of the household.
In addition to TCM and RBNC admission, the New Neighbors Membership includes:
- Discounted fees on programs and special events
- 10% discount in our gift shops
- Invites to “Members Only” hours and events
- $2 discount off guest admissions
- Value pack of museum offers and coupons
- And free admission to over 200 museums and science centers around the world through our relationship with The Association of Science and Technology Centers (some restrictions do apply).

Why it’s important:
The New Children’s Museum has long been a staple in the West Hartford Community. The Museum provides families an outlet for socialization and education. With the New Neighbors Membership, GHAR clients, presumably families who are new to the area, are given an opportunity for immersion into the community culture. With their membership to the museum they will meet and socialize with other families, through which they may pass their own positive experiences with realtors from the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.
The New Children’s Museum’s mission as a leader in science and nature education is to engage children, their families, and their teachers through hands-on educational programs, activities, exhibits, and community outreach. We strive to encourage discovery, spark a lifelong interest in science and nature, improve science achievement, and develop civic awareness of science and nature. How it works:
One of the two named adults on the membership must be a realtor or client of a realtor associated with the Greater Hartford Association of Realtors.
To purchase a New Neighbors Membership for a client, the realtor must contact the museum. Realtors will receive a package that can then be presented to their clients. . Once presented, the family will have 6 months from the date of purchase to redeem the New Neighbor membership. After 6 months, the $100 value of the gift may be applied toward the museum’s standard membership levels.
To purchase a membership for their own family, GHAR members can either contact the museum or sign-up on the TCM website using the code provided by GHAR. Membership may also be purchased by Grandparents, in which case it is understood that the children on the account might not be living in the same household.
How to Purchase:
Buying a Membership for a client family: To purchase a New Neighbors Membership for a client, the realtor must contact the museum to receive the discount package.The realtor must provide the family’s surname as well as an approximate date of presentation to the family. This information helps the museum keep track of redeemed memberships. All other personal information, including names and contact information, will be provided by the family upon redemption. The realtor will be presented with a decorative package that contains a certificate of membership. The family will have 6 months from the purchase date to redeem the certificate, in person, at The New Children’s Museum.
