Families Learn Together Theme: Blast Off

Each month, we will explore a different theme with educational demonstrations, hands-on activities, and fun take-away projects to encourage learning at home. Many of our days will feature guest educators, scientists, artists and other professionals within their fields.

The theme for January 8 is title “Blast Off” and will feature planetarium shows that focus on space travel and exploration, live astronomy shows in our Starlab® and making straw rockets for the younger crowd. The planetarium shows will include Secret of the Cardboard Rocket, Astronaut, Back to the Moon for Good, and From the Blue Planet to the Red Planet. Starlab® is a portable planetarium and provides a unique experience to look in-depth at the unspoiled night sky.  Families will get a chance to travel the solar system to meet your planetary neighbors as they journey to exotic worlds and strange moons.
